Hi guys, here it is, I have not been able to wait my Dime 30 days, so I post on TPB Tracker this show, and will post the next ones on Dime as soon as I can.

This is the Cannibal Corpse show from Hellfest 2007, the biggest French Summer Fest. The video has been shot by my friend Schifeul, and the quality is really fair, even though the sound is slightly distorted here and there. It is a really good show, with a nice setlist, that does NOT include "Butchered at Birth", as some reviewers tend to say, I don't know why!

As I told some of you by email, my Dime (Guillaume59) account has really been deleted, because of 150 days of inactivity. I understand it as much as I regret it, but I have managed to create another account: "loudbootlegs" do not hesitate to contact me for requests or whatever.

The thing is I start from scratch, which means that I have to wait 30 days before I can post. I know there are some shortcuts, but I lack the patience, so let's wait ! I will use this time to sort my bootleg collection.

My trade status will be on very soon, when my collection is entirely sorted, here are the bands I am interested in at the time (DVD only):

I know it's been a long that:

I didn't show up on this blog
I didn't show up on Dime (my account has been deleted it seems...)
I didn't get involved in trading
I didn't get involved in posting good stuff for you guys
I didn't speak English, so please be kind !

Sorry for that, but as you might have guessed, there's is a girl outthere ;-)

Anyway, I have decided to start trading again with the community, and I have a few statements:

My HD has crashed, as some of you might already know if you read this blog
I have lost 3/4 of my collection, e.g. all the boots that I did not burn previously
I have to check my DVD list again and publish it for you to choose.

As you might know, there is some weird stuff going on on the Internet those days, and trackers are being watched here and there, or even down. Demonoid has been down for a long time now, due to hack it seems, that involves mass data loss. The tracker is being repaired it seems, and the staff asks for patience.

Second weird thing that I was told yesterday night, is that The Pirate Bay would have been bought buy a large institution. Well, if this is true, this means that download there is not secure anymore, and the people would better not mess with the bull. Anyway, I did not check the veracity of this, do it if you like, but it would not surprise me.

For all these reasons, I have decided to post only on Dime. I will try to post one bootleg every two weeks, and you will find a cover and complete description on this blog ;-).

My ID on Dime is "loudbootlegs". I do not know why but it seems that my previous account "Guillaume59" does not exist anymore, if some of you know what happened, keep me informed. Oh last thing about Dime, people keep asking me to invite them, but I want to say that I am NOT into this, and I don't even know if Dime works like this. What I did this morning is really simple, I clicked the "Subscribe" button and subscribed...I guess you can manage.

Hi guys, it's been a very long time since my last post. The reason is that I have had a HD crash and I am still coping to retrive my data, I might have lost something like 50 DVD Boots, grrr. Anyway, I'll post again when I have solved this issue.
I wanted to thank all of you for the enthusiast support I have received over the last few inactivity months !
I am working on another Blog, that is only in French (sorry for other users), and will treat the following subjects:

Song translations (into French)
Upcoming and new releases
Alternative music ways such as Vinyl for instance
Music debate, such as the recent Demonoid shut down

Beginner: which tool to host a bootleg list ?

Here is a little article in order to help beginners (and some veterans) organize their boot list.

Generic advice:

Update your list whenever your receive something new. WHY? Because it is easier to list 1 or 2 boots than 136!

Add as much information as possible when you have it. WHY? Because you will loose information really quick, and it is sometimes hard to find it back.

Host a website or a blog to share your list, and keep in touch with traders. WHY? For they are good guys ;-) and will help you if you are a rookie.

This is pretty hard to gather all this information about a boot, but if you have it, check it, keep it and share it.

How to host your list: spreadsheet, blog or website?

Spreadsheet: for those who do not know this term a spreasheet is a Excel(Microsoft) or Calc(Openoffice) file. Many traders use this standard format to stor etheir bootleg list, as it is easy to use and practical. I recommend to use Openoffice Calc: download openoffice, this is free and open source.

+ : easy to use, really practical.
- : not interactive.

Blog: a blog is a good way to host and share your list of boots. The blog platform you choose is really important, because it comes with its community and daily users, and for instance, this is the very reason why Loudbootlegs is hosted by Google (Blogger), because I wanted many people to read it and ask for trades! The reason why it is a good choice is that you will be referenced easily by Google and also on, Blogger search engine. But on the other hand, many people fear Google, so this is up to you. If you fear that your privacy could be threatened, which is perfectly understandable, use open source tools, that will guarantee the safety of your data. As far as blog as concerned, I would recommend to use Wordpress to host a blog. Note that you will have to know a bit of HTML and CSS in order to be really comfortable with Wordpress, but this is 10 times more powerful as Blogger.

Website: everybody's dream is to have their own website ,but the thing is this is pretty much complicated. You will have to know different languages to build and maintain a website, and if this is just to host your bootlist, I would rather recommend to use a blog.

Although there is a solution that most traders know but if you are a beginner you might have never heard of thsi website, so here it is: Tapetrader.

This is an excellent website that will help you host your trading list very precisely and easily, the only thing you have to do is to create an account. Once you are logged in, you can add artists and shows to your boot list, and even create a want list to add the shows you would like to find. The interesting thing is that you can serach for artists and shows in tapetrader's database, which will help you find many traders that like the same bands as you do.

I don't know how bootleg fanatics you guys are, but one thing is true: if you not organized your collection could be a big mess...Well this is basically what happens to me those days !!

It's been a while since my last trade, but I really need to clean my list, burn the dvds and print the covers before doing some more trades! I have received many trade requests lately but unfortunately I cannot take them for I need to take care of my collection first.
Anyway, I'll try to post some new stuff on Dime when I have time, especially some Death shows that have been requested many times, and some Morbid Angel reseeds. Be patient!

KREATOR - Hordes of Chaos (2009)
Ok, this Kreator record has been widespread on the web those last two months, so I guess most of you guys have had a chance to listen to it before its official release in January (UE). This review cannot be objective as I am a big Kreator fan, especially the latest records, beginning with the Violent Revolution album. I was expecting this record to be kind of the same as Enemy of God, and I was kind of surprised. Indeed, the songs are still built on the same thrash basis Intro/verse/chorus/verse/chorus/solo etc, and the riffs could not be more Kreator...so what is new? Well I've been really surprised by the voice of Petrozza, which is way more high pitched than we were used to. For this reason the first shot I gave to this record has been disastrous because our favourite Mille sometimes sound really Core, and I hate everything that's core, especially those high pitched voices. But I got used to it and once this barrier has been jumped, the record is really excellent. The very principle to have a chorus that only consists on the song title is a concept that always seduced me, and this is the case here! Here are for me the best songs of the record: Hordes of Chaos, Warcurse and Radical Resistance.

CANNIBAL CORPSE - Evisceration Plague (2009)
I will not tell you much about this record because I really want everyone to have their own mind about it; but what I know from experience, each new Cannibal Corpse album triggers a debate within old and new CC fans. I guess this gap comes from the differences between Corpsegrinder and Chris Barnes as far as vocals are concerned. I personnaly like both of them, and even if early CC sound awsome to me, I have a slight preference for the recent records, especially because of the production.Note that this latest record, Evisceration Plague has been recorded and Produced by Erick Ruthan (Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal), who was already responsible for the Kill record. So, give it a try, and do not hesitate to post comments! I have embedded the Evisceration Plague song for you to listen ;-)

Most of you I guess have had this news already, but a documentary about Iron Maiden has been shot during last world Tour, and will be run in different movies worldwide April 21st. Here is the trailer for you:

Note that this movie is not a nonsense mercantile project as it has been driven by the very Metal Observer, Sam Dunn, the very guy who provided us with some Masterpiece documentaries over the last few years: A Headbanger's Journey and Global Metal.

Iron Maiden has had an incredible carrier, which is still not over yet after 30 years, and dozens of classics which I will not mention here!

I do not understand, I use the same program as always, MD5 Summer, only this time, it would create a strange file with extension "Fichier 93". I had been a bit desappointed by the previous album "From Mars to Sirius" compared to "The Link" which was the very first album of Gojira I bought just after seeing them on The Link Tour.

The album is really worthy I cannot wait for it to be released!

Yesterday was an other day cause didn't know. Now, after this crazy night, I can say it man, even if I do not like swearing :

METALLICA is the best fucking live band out there !

The horsemen had not played in France for 4 years, and the audience was really inpatient to see them again, or for most people in the crowd, to see them for the first time. I think I have been listening to this band for more than 10 years now, and had never had a chance to see them live.

I will not describe the entire show, what I can say is that this was heaven, awsome setlist, the band seemed really happy to play there in this beautiful historical place (pictures to come), and the audience was survolted !

They will be supported by Within Temptation, and french Death Metal band Gojira.

Really sorry because some of you voted for this show, but unfortunately, it does not exist.
I for sure can tell that this is a 95 show.
Quality is pretty good and the setlist is awsome. If some of you are interested in this show, I'll post on dime.

Bootlegs : comment bien débuter

Salut à tous, voici un post qui est le fruit de mon exprience en ce qui concerne la collection de bootlegs. Lorsque j’ai souhaité me lancer la-dedans un 2004, je n’ai pas trouvé beaucoup d’aide, que ce soit dans mon entourage ou même sur le web.

Maintenant que j’ai plus de recul sur les trucs et astuces pouvant faciliter une collection de bootlegs, j’ai décidé de faire partagé cela aux débutants, qui, comme c’était mon cas à l’époque, doivent être en train de se demander « par où commencer ? ». Voici donc une petite liste de conseils, non exhustive bien entendu, mais qui donneront un coup de main certain aux plus novices avide de se lancer dans l’univers passionnant de l’échange de bootlegs.

Quelques questions de fond

Quel(s) groupe(s) je souhaite collectionner ?

Dans un premier temps, il va falloir faire un choix capital, que souhaitez-vous collectionner ? En effet, et je pense que de nombreux traders vous diront la même chose, collectionner des bootlegs est un passe-temps absolument passionnant et ennivrant, mais cela vous prendra un temps conséquent d’une part, et consommera d’autre part beaucoup de cd/dvd, de boitiers, d’encre, etc… Je vous dis cela non pas pour souligner le fait que cela engendrera des depenses excessives, mis que cela va vous demander d’être très organisé, car vous allez vite crouler sous les shows, à ne plus savoir qu’en faire.

Se restreindre à quelques groupes ou un style
Voici mon premier conseil : cantonez-vous à quelques groupes seulement. Choisissez votre groupe préfré, et essayez de voir s’il existe beaucoup de bootleg disponibles (visitez les quelques liens à la fin de ce post). En effet, il est plus facile de trouver des bootlegs de Bob Dylan que de Noir Desir par exemple. Il faut que vous choisissiez un nombre d’artistes raisonnable afin de vous y retrouver, et d’avoir un objectif à long terme. Des que vous jugez que vous avez assez de bootegs d’un artiste, commencez à chercher un autre groupe qui vous plaît, et ainsi de suite.

Quel type de bootlegs ?
Il existe deux types de bootlegs, et vous devrez probablement faire un choix, en tout cas si vous avez l’âme d’un collectionneur, vous souhaiterez surement que votre collection soit uniforme en terme de qualité, mais egalement de format : audio ou video.

è Choisir son type de bootlegs
Deux types de bootleg circulent en terme de qualité (i-e restitution) :

Les lossy : Ce sont des bootlegs qui ont été convertis dans des formats compressés afin de réduire leur poids : mp3, mpg, avi…Beaucoup de traders n’aiment pas ces formats car ils ne restituent pas la qualité maximum possible, et vous vous en rendrez rapidement compte par vous-même, cela peut faire la difference. Un bootleg est un enregistrement non officiel, et donc le son et pris avec les moyens du bord, comme par exemple un mini disc avec un petit micro. Le son n’est donc pas forcément de très bonne qualité, et le compression abaisse encore cette qualité. Beaucoup de traders n’acceptent pas ce format.

+ : prend moins d’espace sur votre disque dur

- : qualité non optimale

Les lossless : comme vous l’aurez compris, ici la qualité est optimale, en opposition au lossy. Ce sont des fichiers .flac, .ogg, .shn ou encore dvd (vts_)

- : prend plus d’espace sur le disque

Enfin, je vous conseille de faire un choix entre vidéo et audio, car vous n’aurez probablement pas le temps de faire les deux. Contentez-vous de collectionner video et audio pour votre rtiste préféré. Je collectionnais video et audio au moment ou je me suis lancé dans la collection de bootlegs, et je me suis effectivement retrouvé empêtré rapidement sous une montagne de shows, que je n’avais alors pas le temps de regarder ou d’ecouter. Je préférère la video, donc j’ai stoppé la collection d’audio, hormis pour deux groupes : Death et Cannibal Corpse, mais ce sont mes deux artistes préférés.

Quelques questions pratiques

De quoi vais-je avoir besoin ?

-Un pc : c’est le support principal de stockage de vos shows. En effet vous obtiendrez la plupart de ces derniers en les téléchargeant à partir de sites internet ou de particuliers. Vu le poids des shows, beaucoup d’espace disque sera necessaire, ou beaucoup d’organisation pour graver vos shows au fur et à mesure.

-Une adresse e-mail valable : vous permet de communiquer avec d’autres traders

-Une connexion internet : et rapide si possible car les fichiers sont lours, par exemple un show audio lossless pesera souvent 800Mo, la taille d’un dvx ! Un dvd quant à lui, avoisinne souvent les 4Go.

-Des cd ou dvd vierges : pour archiver vos shows, les graver en .wav ou graver vos dvd bootlegs téléchargés.

-Des boitiers : il existe différent types, personnellement j’utilise des boitiers dvd slim et des pochette plastiques transparentes pour les audio.

-Une imprimante : c’est quand même plus sympa d’imprimer la jaquette ;-), à condition qu’elle existe bien sûr.

Enfin, de beaucoup de patience

Programmes recommandés.
- Il faut faudra un client bittorent, la plupart des shows etant disponibles sous forme de torrent. Je vous laisse vous renseigner sur le fonctionnement des .torrent en vous rendant sur wikipedia ( le BitTorrent ).

Je vous conseille d’utiliser Azureus, dont je trouve l’interface et les possibilités idéales.
Vous pouvez télécharger Azureus.

- .md5 Summer : vous permet de créer une liste résumant le contenu d’un dossier. Ce petit fichier sera souvent demandé lorsque vous voulez mettre un show à disposition sur un site comme Dimeadozen.

- Soulseek : plateforme peer to peer vous permettant de partager des shows avec d’autres membres que vous aurez choisis. Cette methode est de plus en plus plebiscitée car elle permet d’économiser les frais de l’envoi postal. Soulsek
Note : l’envoi postal est encore bien entendu pratiqué et tend à avoir beaucoup d’adeptes encore aujourd’hui car même si cela coûte un peu d’argent en frais postaux, le plaisir de recevoir des shows venant d’un trader à l’autre bout de la planète est inégalable, et pour mon cas, me fait vraiment retomber en enfance : réchirer le paquet, découvrir le show avec impatience, tout ça en ayant trépigné toute la semaine parce que vos shows n’arrivent pas vite suffisamnt vite…Enfin c’et un peu plus old school, mais je préfère.

-The GIMP : logiciel open source qui vous permettra de réaliser des pochettes et jaquettes à vos jolis shows fraîchement gravés.
